Fidelma Healy Eames is an Irish Fine Gael politician and member of Seanad Éireann. She was first elected in 2007 by the Labour Panel.[1] Formerly, Healy Eames was a primary school teacher and college lecturer in Teacher education.
In October 2007, she was appointed the Fine Gael Seanad spokesperson on Education and Science.[2] She was previously an unsuccessful candidate at the 2002 and 2007 and most recently the 2011 general elections for the Galway West constituency.[3] She was elected to Galway County Council in 2004, at her first local elections, for the Oranmore area, and served until 2007.
Her various appointments include: former Chairperson of County Galway VEC, member of GMIT Governing Body, member of HSE West Regional Forum, director of Galway Airport, member of Galway City and County Enterprise Board, member of Western Rail Committee and member of Galway Arts Centre Board.[2] She is Director of her own business, FHE Education and Training Providers.[2]
She is currently the Fine Gael Seanad Spokesperson on Social Protection.
